Yasuo, Riven and the War
Yasuo and Riven enter Ionia's wartime history from opposite sides. Yasuo was entrusted with protecting an elder, while Riven served the invading Noxian army. Neither expected the conflict to turn the question of duty into the source of an enduring exile.
Yasuo left his assigned responsibility to join the fighting. When he returned, his elder was dead and suspicion fell on him. His flight and the deaths that followed transformed a failure of judgment into a life defined by accusation, grief and the search for an answer.
Riven's certainty in Noxian ideals had already been shattered by what she witnessed during the invasion. Her attempt to break with that past brought her blade into the same chain of events surrounding the elder's death. Confessions of a Broken Blade develops that connection through testimony and judgment, giving the reader a fuller account than either person's initial assumptions.
Their stories converge because war leaves responsibilities unfinished. Learning what happened does not restore the dead or return either life to its former course. It changes what guilt can mean, and what each person may do with the knowledge. The invasion is the regional event that links them; their subsequent choices remain distinct personal histories.
